White Paper: China's Textile Digital Product Passport Strategy

The Chinese Textile sector is actively developing Digital Product Passport technology for Chinese textile manufacturing companies under an industry led strategy. To strengthen the ESG data governance of Chinese textile companies, enable DPP readiness for Chinese companies to trade textiles into the European Union, and support the construction of a low-carbon circular economy for Chinese textiles.
On the 26th of June 2025 China's textile sector released its first strategy paper under the industry initiative providing analyses on:
- The significance & application value of DPPs for the textile sector in China.
- The Architecture for the Chinese Textile DPP system, which forms the basis for an industry textile DPP platform that can be integrated with a Trusted Data Space.
- An update on the delivery of the three Chinese textile DPP standards, and other relevant linked Chinese standards.
- Perspectives on challenges for companies and the sector in deploying DPPs.
- Recommendations at the national level for rolling out DPPs for textile products, linked to the Chinese overall DPP strategy as governed by CAICT.
