EcoWise Digital Building Logbook Demonstration

Europe’s construction sector is entering a new digital era—one where every beam, door, and air-handling unit must tell its story. By 2027, under the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and related directives, every product will carry a Digital Product Passport (DPP). By 2028, Digital Building Logbooks (DBLs) will become the standard for lifecycle carbon and performance reporting under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). Across the Channel, the UK is advancing in parallel with the Building Safety Act and its requirement for a Golden Thread of information—a continuously updated, digital record that proves accountability, safety, and product integrity from design to occupancy. Together, these frameworks define a shared transnational vision: a built environment where data, trust, and traceability underpin every material and structure. The implications are profound: traceability and sustainability are no longer “nice-to-haves”—they are mandatory. And the question facing contractors, manufacturers, and facility owners is simple: Are you ready?
